In the role as Design Director at RED BEE MEDIA, I had the privilege of conceptualising and developing the brand refresh of BBC HD’s OSP (On Screen Presentation) as well as revamping intricate elements of the HD diamond logo, including the creation of a stacked and cut-out variation.

My responsibility were to enhance and optimise the BBC HD diamond logo for various applications, both big and small. Logotype considerations: work alongside BBC logo, work within BBC’S visual ecosystem and stand alone, have televisual appeal to mass market, at the same time be strong and have the ability to work cross-platform retaining its integrity. Typefaces: clean, classic, clear communicator works onscreen and in print.

The design had to capture the brand essence of BBC HD, evoking a sense of high-quality, pristine images that are visually captivating and possess a televisual attitude when displayed onscreen. Additionally, had to be meticulously crafted to comply with all in-house technical specifications for playout and production systems to ensure seamless integration.

This triggers the emergence of monumental structures rising from the depths, surpassing the scale of a cityscape, as birds soar overhead. These structures fuse together, and molten iron flows, eventually forming the iconic BBC HD logo in the center of a vast seascape when viewed from an aerial perspective.
