BIOGRAPHY

Mark Walters, Creative Director at Mark One Group has over 21 years of commercial experience in different disciplines of commercial art including graphic design, international client liaison, directing over seas live action shoots, channel branding, writing books and writing and directing films.

Prior to Mark One Group he was Head of Design at Virgin Media TV, Design Director at Red Bee Media, Senior Designer at BBC Broadcast, BBC Media Arc, BBC Resources and BBC. Over this time period his responsibilities included: managing and inspiring the design team, staff appraisals, client liaison internal and external, overseeing the graphic budget spend with external suppliers, developing new business, creative direction, art direction, special effects direction, directing and producing the on-screen graphic output, channel rebrands and actively policing the on-screen brand as brand guardian at Virgin Media TV.

He began his career graduating with full honors in Graphic Design Communications setting up Juxtapose Design. Shortly after he joined the BBC as an Interactive Designer, becoming a Senior Designer leading a team of interactive designers, delivering content graphics for programmes, websites, CD-Roms and interface kiosks etc. During this period he won numerous awards for his creativity. He made the switch from interactive to broadcast designer, directing and branding opening sequences for BBC1, BBC2 BBC 3, BBC Worldwide and the iconic BBC Sports programmes such as Grandstand, London Marathon and Match of the Day.

In 2006 he won a BAFTA for best title sequence at the 2007 BAFTA craft awards for BBC Sports, Match Of The Day 2006 FIFA World Cup opening titles.

He is also motivational speaker, and a proactive voice against violence amongst teenagers in the UK, having created ‘Devastating After Effects Anti Violence Programme’, as an online resource.
